The Rotax DD-2 Engine represents the lastest in technology available for a kart engine. Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), wanted to design an engine with high reliability, ultimate performance, and the ability to 'shift' gears. The DD-2 package delivers on those goals.
With about 34HP, the DD-2 engine is capable of getting you around the track very quickly. The 'no-lift' shifting is made possible with a patented Electronic Ignition, that literally kills the ignition for a split second allowing for perfect shifts even from a beginner. Add to that, a Formula 1 style paddle shifter and you are ready to go fast right away.
The DD-2 engine package REQUIRES a specially designed chassis for mounting, but not to worry. As of this writing, there are over (30) chassis manufacturers to choose from, with more coming every month.
